Aristotle University of Thessaloniki has awarded a grant for the implementation of the proposal "Coding of the open-ended questions for the Comparative Candidates Survey" that will enable us to use new technologies and automated content analysis techniques to code the open-ended questions of CCS. We will start with the Hellenic (Greek) Candidate Surveys to test if computer-assisted translation from Greek to English and subsequent application of automated content analysis techniques on the English text can produce useful and reliable coding of the candidates responses to the open-ended questions of the CCS questionnaire. If successful, the method can then be tried with other languages.
